2025 electric vehicle incentives: the decree is now official
The framework introduced by the Ministry of the Environment’s decree and its main operational provisions.
On 8 September 2025 the Italian Official Gazette published the Ministry of the Environment’s decree on the 2025 PNRR bonus for electric mobility. It sets the criteria and procedures for the new incentives for light electric vehicles, for both private individuals and micro-enterprises.
Compared with what had emerged in the previous months, the decree adds little that is new. Its publication, however, starts the countdown: the start date and updates on the available fund will be published on the website of the Ministry (MASE).
The fund amounts to about 597 million euros, reallocated within the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The aim is to renew Italy’s fleet of cars and light commercial vehicles, supporting the initial outlay with non-repayable grants of up to 20,000 euros.
